- Get 1 tsp Salt

- Make ready 1 tsp Red chilli powder

- Prepare 1 small bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped
- Take FOR THE POTATO PATTIES-
- Prepare 2-3 Potatoes boiled and mashed
- Get 1 tsp Salt
- Take 1/2 tsp Dry Mango powder or Amchur
- Make ready 1 tsp Black pepper powder
- Prepare 1 tsp Chat Masala
- Prepare 1 small bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped
- Get 2-3 tbsp Oil for shallow frying
- Prepare 1/2 cup Sev
- Make ready 1/2 cup Boondi
- Take 1/2 cup Curd beaten
- Get 1/2 cup Dates Chutney
- Prepare 1/2 cup Peanuts roasted
- Prepare 1 tsp Chat Masala
- Take 1 tbsp Lemon juice
Ragda Pattice is yet another chaat recipe from Mumbai. This dish actually makes a complete meal and one that takes very little cooking, especially if you have planned ahead and soaked the peas a day. Slowly ragda pattices has been one of our favorite chaat cause it's works perfect as a chaat/snack and also as a meal, I mostly do this for Bursting with so many flavors and spices, ragda pattice is a treat. Ragda pattice is a flavorful and popular street food of Mumbai, consisting of two parts: ragda, which is a dried yellow pea stew, and pattice, referring to a fried mashed potato patty.
Instructions to make Lobia Ragda Pattice:
- Soak Beans overnight for the best results. Boil with a little Salt until done. Do not over boil them. They get done very quickly. Keep aside. In a pan, heat Oil and add Asafoetida, Green chillies and chopped Onion. Saute them nicely until done. Now add the rest of the ingredients mentioned under it's making. Add boiled Beans to it. Cover and simmer for two more minutes.
- For the Potato Patties, mix everything well and shape into round tikkis or patties. Shallow fry few at a time in batches on a low heat. Keep them aside after all get done.
- For serving, place 2 patties on a plate. Spoon about 2-3 ladleful of the Black Eyed Beans Ragda on them. Further top up with Chutneys and other ingredients whatever are handy. Serve immediately with some generous sprinkle of Chat Masala. Lemon juice can be squeezed on top or else add some dry Anardana powder too. Or serve it just like that as we have already used Dry Mango powder or Amchur liberally. Enjoy!
